Maybe in a warm and enveloping you drag all our senses in a whirl of pleasure simply by dissolving the tensions, easing the stress by helping us to set aside, albeit briefly, an everyday often overwhelming and unpleasant. A group of Japanese researchers has in fact developed the WAO-1 robot created a masseur Waseda University in Tokyo in collaboration with the University of Asahi. We could then meet again soon to have the choice between a massage therapist in the flesh, and a one with arms to the ends of which are raised areas of ceramics and sensors that control the type of movement and the pressure exerted on the body. WAO-1 was originally conceived to perform facial massage therapy on patients with jaw joint disorders, but could soon be used for beauty treatments. At least that’s what hopes Dr. Ken Mishura team of researchers, who said he was confident in the possibility that the robot massager find wide application and anxious for this to happen soon.

The researchers also point out that you have created a highly sophisticated device that has nothing to do with the crude, by comparison, robot-massagers already on the market, very different even from the already widespread easy chairs. This discovery will mark the humiliation of man by robotic bodies? It outlines a science-fiction scenario?
